Voters choose commissioners to review the Snohomish County charter every 10 years. The charter is like the county’s constitution – it sets up the scope and purpose of local government. Kathy is running for this non-partisan, non-paid position. I know her as a staunch defender of democracy and equality. As a former UW professor, she has the skills to engage diverse audiences (public hearings) and synthesize information (commission reports). You can trust her to listen with an open mind and heart. She’ll make a great commissioner! Vote Kathy Gill!

We have enjoyed friendship with Kathy Gill for over 20 years. We enjoy discussing many topics ranging from travel to agriculture (she grew up on a family farm). We have appreciated her understanding of media processes including the dissemination of news through traditional means, the web and podcasts. She has appeared on local television on election nights as a commentator. She is a world traveler and has even spent many a day on her motorcycle driving through the beautiful country side and as far away as Alaska with her husband Mike. Kathy holds her family close by understanding topics such as elder care and cancer care. She is kind and caring, assisting me as my patient advocate during my cancer treatments. With her caring demeanor, wide breath of knowledge and her ability to communicate, we highly recommend Kathy for the District 3 SnoCo Charter Review Commission.

I have known Kathy both professionally and personally for more than 15 years. In that time, I have found her to be a caring, empathetic person who cares for the rights of others.

From a professional perspective, Kathy and I worked at King County Elections. It was Kathy’s responsibility to maintain the public-facing website. This included providing timely results during election time. She had to be detailed, concise and thorough in providing the needed detail. During my time there, she was exemplary in her work.

From a personal perspective, Kathy has always been above reproach. She cares for those around her and what you see if what you get. I strongly support Kathy in this position. If I lived in her district, I would vote for her.

It is my great pleasure to endorse Kathy Gill for the Snohomish County Charter Review Commission. I have known Kathy for nearly 20 years through our work at the University of Washington–Seattle, and I can say without hesitation that she brings a rare combination of intellectual rigor, practical know-how, and deep civic commitment.

Kathy is a citizen who cares deeply about how government functions and how it can serve people better. Her professional and academic work has always centered on helping others make sense of complex systems, whether those systems involve media, data, or policy. She asks the kinds of thoughtful, challenging questions that lead to meaningful change.

Kathy consistently demonstrates her ability to connect across disciplines and communities. Her work across academia, politics, journalism, and technology gives her a uniquely broad perspective.

Kathy is a lifelong learner, an engaged listener, and someone who genuinely seeks to understand and improve the systems that shape our daily lives. She will bring these qualities to the Commission, along with a strong sense of public service and a desire to create more transparent, responsive, and efficient local government. I can think of no one better suited for this
responsibility.

Snohomish County would be lucky to have her voice at the table.
